General Assembly 6th June 2008
In line with the Slovenian EU Presidency, the EU Photovoltaic (PV) Technology Platform held its 3rd General Assembly on 6 June 2008, in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
After 3 years of operation, the EU PV Technology Platform presented its achievements over this period. This event gave a complete overview of the current situation of the PV sector, including issues such as EU and national policies, market development, an update on research and technology but also a review of PV in developing countries.

Programme
The programme of the 3rd General Assembly of the EU PV Technology Platform will be divided in 4 major sessions:
- The 1st session is dedicated to PV in Slovenia with respect to the political framework, market development, research activities, investment possibilities, projects and the Slovenian PV Technology Platform.
- The 2nd session will focus on crucial subjects of the PV sector, titled as: Photovoltaic solar energy: the road ahead. Issues such as Competitiveness, a Balanced PV Market in Europe and PV as an enabler for Development will be tackled.
- The 3rd session will focus on special activities on which the EU PV Technology Platform is highly involved with: A wide awareness campaign targeted to the European youth, an example of a Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) from the construction sector and the European Solar Initiative.
- The last session will be the closing of the GA with Slovenia Authorities and Commissioner Janez Potočnik.
